Summary of the articles published in the blog. πŸ“–☺

Summary. As Pam Allyn, an American literacy expert put it, "Reading is like breathing in, and writing is like breathing out." My opinions on using social media have radically changed as a result of the considerable time I have invested in learning new things from my teacher. Being unaware of the usefulness of ICT, I initially thought that using social media was a waste of time. After studying the theory, I did put the information to use. I kept a blog with five images along with some of the values associated with education. I snapped the photo while I was having some downtime.  Firstly, an aged Hungrel dzong which is located at Paro valley near Six senses resorts at Chibjakja village. The second picture is of age-old  artifacts  which include 4 artifacts (stone grinding machines, wood-made rice pounding machines, kerosene, pine wood lighting, and traditional oil extraction) that I have used in my village when the electricity wa...

LEARNING EXPERIENCE. ✍🏻

MY LEARNING EXPERIENCE πŸ” According to John Dewey, "All genuine learning comes through experience." After attending the ICT class for three months, I have learned a great deal about the value of ICT in a variety of sectors. Learning about the situating tool was one of the more intriguing facts I took away from all of this. The situating tool is an application that helps to situate learners’ in an environment to experience the context and happenings. For Examples: 1. Simulations (flight, farming, surgery, environment, driving, History City) 2 . Virtual Reality (VR). Simulations are programs (associated with constructivism) that teach strategies and rules which are made to appeal-life situations. It situates the user in the environment, comprehend & manipulate variables, foster creativity & visualization skills, and integrate into teaching-learning. How will I use it in teaching? I will employ simulations to improve learning when obtaining a certain real-life ...

4. CO-CONSTRUCTIVE TOOL. πŸ‘¨πŸ»‍πŸ’»πŸ‘¨πŸ»‍πŸ”¬

Co-constructive Tool It is a tool that can be used by everyone and virtually work together.   It helps to support students' construction of some tangible projects as a manifestation of their construction of knowledge. It is applications that support the construction of knowledge through a shared understanding. Examples: electronic whiteboarding or document conferencing, blog, moodle, bolgs, wikis, google docs, word press etc... Importance of co-construction co-edit, communication, enhance the collaborative learning environment, high-level cognitive processes-explanation, problem-finding, problem-solving, active and intentional learning, identifying and developing expertise Integration with lesson 1.   Students can use constructive tools to work cooperatively and construct a shared understanding of new knowledge. 2.   Students can use electronic whiteboard where students may post notices to a shared document or   whiteboard. We have done activity on creat...

3. CONSTRUCTIVE TOOL πŸ—

CONSTRUCTIVE TOOL    To manipulate information and build one's own knowledge and understanding, one can employ constructive tools. We can use word processing and spreadsheets as editing tools with the aid of constructive tools. Some of the constructive tools include word, publisher, powerpoint, c-map etc. In the classroom we have used spreadsheets like converting data into percentage, percentage to graph and interpreted the graph. The work is considerably easier for us because it can save and revise the work at any moment.   Calculations can be done quickly and easily with the use of constructive tools. The user can present their work in lovely and appealing styles. I felt it would be very useful in creating result for the large number of class sizes. Using several useful tools, the student can articulate their own ideas. With the aid of the constructive tool, the student can modify data, create mental images, and integrate their own knowledge into the meaning. It enc...

2. COMMUNICATIVE TOOL πŸ“ž

Image
Communicative Tool A wide variety of communication tools are used for external and internal communication. These tools include  mail, email, telephones, cell phones, smartphones, computers, video and web conferencing tools, social networking, as well as online collaboration and productivity platforms . When it comes to teaching and learning field, it enables easy communication between teacher and student and beyond the physical barrier. For an instance, using social networks like facebook, myspace, twitter, email, zoom to enhance learning.   Communicative tools are feasible and convenient to all the users. Some tools do not need to be logged on the internet at the same time because even if we are not online messages will appear (asynchronous) like email, messenger, telegram etc.   Whereas if in emergency cases we can meet in real time known as synchronous communication by making telephone call, audio chat, videoconferencing etc... After learning this communicative...

1. An informative tool. πŸ’¬

Image
An informative tool.  Informative tools are  applications that provide large amounts of information in various formats such as text, graphics, sound, or video . In the class we learnt about searching information from different sources. It is important for the teachers to make students avail to various information through using informative tools. For instance to learn about the Panda, Why are pandas endangered? We use near pod to post our answers where by all the students can see and learn together https ://app.nearpod.com/? pin=egzd4 After learning this informative tool I am very confident about how to apply this knowledge in the field. I will use various search engines to deliver lesson unlike traditional way of teaching. I will use soft copy text, convert text to audio and let them listen, provide worksheet to note down take away rather than letting them writing on the pape...
